Andhra Police To Act Tough Against Fake News

Andhra police warn fake news

Andhra Police is set to act strongly against those spreading fake news or hurtful content. The AP police have warned that false information, hate posts, or attempts to tarnish reputations will not be tolerated. The DGP Harish Kumar Gupta has made this stance clear.

He said certain individuals disrupting law and order have already been identified. He urged social media users to avoid posting sensitive content that may inflame religious, regional or communal sentiments. Legal action will follow such misuse.

Gupta cautioned that spreading propaganda or fake news will invite cases under sections of BNS. He also mentioned that details of offenders would be shared with their employers and may lead to termination. No position grants immunity.

He added that provocative videos, fake content generated by AI, or misleading campaigns would be punishable by law. The Andhra Police are already carrying out continuous monitoring. Offenders will be traced using technical evidence, arrested, and prosecuted.

He reminded people to verify any content before sharing it to avoid legal trouble. The DGP appealed for social media to be used responsibly, as a platform for truthful and constructive exchange. Think twice before sharing impulsively.
