According to a report in Praja Shakthi News Paper, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Government is contemplating scrapping Mee Seva Centers in the State. Mee Seva Centers are originally started as eSeva centers during Chandrababu Naidu‘s tenure in the United State.
Later they got changed into Mee Seva Centers in Congress Government. Mee Seva Centers effectively cater to the needs of various Citizen Services. The Government now plans to scrap them and cater these services through Village Secretariats. It is not clear if this applies only to Mee Seva centers run by the Government or also to the Mee Seva centers run by Private Franchises.
This is a shocking and also risky decision because Mee Seva centers is a successful model and tinkering with that will bring woes to the Public. If that happens, it will bring huge criticism to the Government. The decision is taking to make Village Secretariats self-reliant.
With this model, Village Secretariats maintenance and salaries will be taken care of, the government opines. Around 11,054 Mee Seva centers are being operated in the state. This move of the government will make several people jobless. Let us see if the Government goes on with this decision.
