Andhra Pradesh is all set to become the first state to roll out the National Dialysis programme at an all-time low cost. The state is planning to introduce dialysis at a subsidized rate of Rs 960 for the above-poverty-line people and free for the below poverty line population soon.

The dialysis programme will be very soon available in all district hospitals in PPP mode under National Health Mission. At least 250 district hospitals will start dialysis services in hospitals by the end of this year. Private partners will provide medical human resource, dialysis machine along with RO water plant infrastructure, dialyzer and consumables in the scheme.
The state government will be helping them with the space, power and water supply within district hospitals. Dialysis usually costs 12000-20000 Rupees per month basing on the type. This will help the patients with severe kidney problems big time.
