Andhra Pradesh general elections are around 50 days from now and the ruling party leaders have now started to flood volunteers with gifts.
While JSP has been alleging that these volunteers are being used to collect public data, YCP leaders are rewarding the same volunteers with costly gifts, leading to more doubts.
Going into the story, minister Jogi Ramesh has started the gift distribution scheme for these volunteers. According to a report from Eenadu, Jogi pooled nearly 1000 volunteers in one place and gave them hotboxes, flasks, and bags with his own photo imprinted on them.
Apart from these gifts, the minister reportedly arranged chicken biryani and other delicacies for the volunteers to feast on. These events happened at function halls in Kankipadu and Kanuru.
At a time when the opposition is alleging misuse of the volunteer system, the ruling party leaders handsomely rewarding them right ahead of the polling is causing more doubts.
