AP also to falter on 24×7 power supply!

POWER-CUT-TO-apWhile Telangana is bracing up for a severe power cuts season, Power Surplus Andhra Pradesh will also have to battle power cuts to a lower extent. The power production in Krishnapatnam was stopped due to lack of coal availability, as a result there is gap between the demand and supply.

This gap is likely to get widened in March. Considering all these, the government may impose nominal 2 hours power cut to villages and 1 hour power cut to Mandal head quarters. In such case, the 24X7 Power supply may not be possible. However officials are confident that 24X7 Power Supply can be resumed from May.

Krishnapatnam should have started its commercial operations from 1st of this month. But the production was stopped due to unavailability in coal and also as the rift between both the Telugu states regarding the power sharing is not solved. Officials say AP will be able to manage 24X7 Power supply if power production begins in Krishnapatnam and if it gets the full share. On the other side, Telangana is gearing up for 4 hours power cut from 21st of this month.
