The AP government has decided to give ‘shining star’ awards to students who scored high marks in 10th and intermediate.
The government has issued orders to select students who secured highest marks in tenth and inter in various mandals to give shining star awards. Education department’s chief secretary issued the orders.
The awards are meant to increase the quality and standards in the education field. The government has ordered that the awards must be on June 9. Students from government and private schools will be picked for the awards.
Students who scored above 500 marks will be given awards. OC, BC, SC, ST and minority students will get the awards. In each mandal, awards will be given to 6 students. Two OC, 2 BC, 1 SC, 1 ST student will get the awards.
For inter, the students must get 830 and more marks. OC, BC, SC, ST, minority students will be picked from all districts across the state. 36 inter students will be picked for shining star awards in each district.
Apart from a certificate and medal, each shining star will be given Rs 20,000 as cash reward.
