Liquor Scam Accused Denied Anticipatory Bail

AP High Court denies Mohit Reddy bail

The Andhra Pradesh High Court rejected the anticipatory bail petition of Chevireddy Mohit Reddy, son of former MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, who is accused in the AP liquor scam. The order came as a setback for Mohit Reddy.

Listed as A39 in the case, Mohit Reddy’s infrastructure firms in Tirupati and Hyderabad were under SIT scrutiny in September 2025. Investigators alleged that money was diverted through his companies for the 2024 election funding. He is also accused of using Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) vehicles to move illegal funds.

Earlier, the High Court had directed that no coercive action be taken against Mohit Reddy until July 26, 2025. However, SIT later searched his flat in Prashanti Hills, Gachibowli, on September 3, 2025, where they reportedly found several shell companies registered under mismatched details.

The SIT also discovered links between Mohit Reddy and another accused, Vijayananda Reddy. The investigation team continues to raid properties and offices connected to the Rs 3,200 crore AP liquor scam.
