The Supreme Court refused to hear the petition filed by Raj Kasireddy in the AP liquor scam case. Raj Kasireddy had filed a petition for regular bail.
It said Raj Kasireddy was the architect of the entire liquor scam. When Raj Kasireddy’s counsel asked to withdraw the petition, the Supreme Court gave its permission.
The Rs 3200 crore AP liquor scam created headlines for days and every little detail is being followed both by local and national media as it happened during Jagan’s term.
Almost everyone of the accused has been released on bail, but the Supreme Court is particularly that Raj Kasireddy remains in jail for being the mastermind in the case that resulted in sales of spurious liquor killing innocent people and money laundering to the tune of thousands of crores.
Though not politically active, Raj Kasireddy was the IT advisor of ex CM Jagan. The entire scam was carried out without leaving any digital proofs. However, due to deaths after drinking cheap liquor packaged in costly bottles, the citizens of Andhra Pradesh demanded action.
Subsequently, after the Chandrababu government came to power, they started probing the matter leading to huge revelations. Raj Kasireddy was trying to flee the country when he was arrested in April, 2025.
Since 9 months, he has made various attempts at securing bail, but the Andhra Pradesh High Court too rejected his bail plea. Now, with the Supreme Court refusing bail, Raj Kasireddy is forced to play the waiting game.
Raj Kasireddy allegedly channeled crores of money into real estate, hospitals and films to turn black money into white. For now, looks like he will be in jail for quite some time.
