Center has agreed to increase the number of members of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council. This is due to a mistake occured in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. There should be 58 members in Andhra Pradesh council after the state bifurcation. But it is mentioned that there will be only 50 members.
Andhra Pradesh government has taken the mistake in to the notice of the Central government. Union Minister Arun Jaitley has confirmed that the government will make a correction to this mistake.
Probably they will have to introduce an amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act now in the next session of Parliament. It may be reminded to our readers that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu few days ago has stated that the center will bring in few amendements to various mistakes in the Reorganization Act.
