After the TDP coalition’s victory in Andhra Pradesh, CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu has shifted his focus to Telangana, aiming to strengthen the party in the region where it was originally founded. One notable development is the possible return of Babu Mohan, a well-known figure in both the film industry and politics.

After being inactive in politics for some time, Babu Mohan, encouraged by his supporters, appears ready to rejoin TDP. Babu Mohan first became an MLA in the 1998 by-elections, winning again in 1999 from the Andole Assembly constituency in Medak district. He served as a Minister for Labour in Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet.
Despite losing the elections in 2004 and 2009 to former Deputy CM Damodar Raja Narasimha, he remained a significant political figure. In 2014, he left TDP to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

Recent reports suggest that Babu Mohan is preparing to don the TDP’s yellow scarf once again, potentially in a public display of allegiance at the NTR Trust Bhavan, marking his official return to the party that originally gave him his political start.
