The famous Balapur Ganesh Laddu had once again created a record. 24 members participated in the auction which went up to 9.5 Lakhs. Balapur resident Singireddy Jaihind Reddy won the laddu in the auction by bidding the highest amount in the history. Last year, the laddu was auctioned for 9.26 Lakhs by TDP leader Teegala Krishna Reddy. The amount received through the auction will be spent for the village development.
Tha auction of Balapur Laddu began in 1994. The first Laddu was sold for 450 rupees. Till 2001, the Laddu mostly costed below 1 Lakh and for the first time in 2002, it went for above one Lakh. Since then the auction amount is increasing every year and finally reached 9.5 Lakhs now. Approximately 35000 Ganesh idols will be immersed in various rivers of Hyderabad today. Since this is the first Nimmajjanam in the Telangana state, the government has made prestigious and elaborate arrangements.
