The nomination phase begins tomorrow in Andhra Pradesh. There is no clarity yet about the Narasapuram Parliament and Anaparthy seats TDP is seeking from the BJP.
The TDP high command asked the BJP to take Undi instead of Narasapuram Parliament so that it could accommodate Raghu Rama Krishna Raju.
In case the BJP is keen on only MP seats, it has offered Eluru Parliament seat in exchange for Narasapuram.
Also, it has asked Anaparthy in exchange for Thambalapalle. Both the proposals were discussed in a meeting at Chandrababu’s house a few days ago. The BJP National Leaders who attended the meeting said they would confirm in two days after consulting the high command.
It’s been almost one week since then but there has been no response.
There are media reports that the BJP wants Denduluru or Unguturu instead of Anaparthy.
Also, it is reluctant to give Narasapuram Parliament for Raghu Rama Krishna Raju.
In fact, both these decisions will help the BJP.
Srinivas Raju, the BJP candidate in Narasapuram is not getting the support of the TDP and BJP cadre. Also, he lacks the money power to take care of a Parliament seat. It will be easy for him in an Assembly segment. Also, Undi is a strong fort of TDP. So, the winning becomes easy.
In case, the BJP is keen on MP seats. Eluru is a better seat than Narasapuram because it has a better candidate there, Tapana Chowdary who is working on the ground for more than three years.
TDP contesting Anaparthy is very important for Purandeshwari to win in Rajahmundry Parliament.
Unguturu is a Janasena Seat and it will crush the morale of Janasena voters if changed at the last minute. TDP has a strong candidate, Chintamaneni Prabhakar in Denduluru. Giving the seat to the BJP means giving Denduluru to the YSR Congress on a platter.
Many actually believe the BJP is in alliance with the TDP but is still maintaining a secret understanding with the YSR Congress. Delaying simple issues like these is just strengthening those doubts.
The delay means losing precious time in these seats for the TDP candidates.
