BRS-BJP Merger Said Revanth Reddy

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy made a very interesting comment in Delhi during his chit-chat with media. He said BJP was trying to merge BRS with their party.

While the talk has been doing rounds in political circles, this is not the first time the CM spoke about it openly. He said BJP wanted major cases to be handed over to CBI which showed that BJP will make use of them.

The fact that BRS stepped away from MLC elections, shows that the BJP and BRS are in cohorts, say political analysts.

With Kaleswaram, e-racing, liquor scams on their heads, those in political circles feel the BRS will give in to pressure for a merger with BJP.

The saffron party wants to establish its base in the southern states and a merger would mean getting the vote bank of BRS. Sentiment could be played up in future and BJP could get mileage from such a move.

It’s also a ploy to keep the four main players of BRS inactive in Telangana politics, say analysts if the merger were to happen.

In August 2024, Revanth Reddy alleged that KCR will be made a Governor, KTR a union cabinet minister and Kavita could be made a RS member. The fourth person, Harish Rao could be made leader of opposition in Telangana, he prophesied.

Time will tell if BJP manages to bargain with BRS with regards to a merger. But the process is on, says the Telangana CM.
