Bharatiya Janata Party has given the Hyderabad MP ticket to Madhavi Latha, surprising many. She was not the frontrunner for the ticket but all of a sudden, the party decided to give her the ticket
However, the decision didn’t go well with the senior BJP leaders in Hyderabad. They have opposed the decision and are not attending the campaign of Madhavi Latha.
Hyderabad has been a fortress for the AIMIM for the last four decades. Father-son Salauddin Owaisi and Asaduddin Owaisi have been winning the seat since 1984. To dethrone Asaduddin, the BJP has put Madhavi Latha in contention.
The local BJP leaders argue that the decision has been taken without consulting the senior BJP leaders in the seven constituencies of the Hyderabad Parliament region. They say that Kishan Reddy referred to Madhavi Latha’s name without discussing it with the local leaders, including the Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh.
Initially, Raja Singh also expected a Hyderabad ticket. It is heard that he is unhappy with the high command’s decision. As a result, even he is not campaigning for Madhavi Latha.
Madhavi Latha has been campaigning along with a few of her supporters and party members. None of the senior local leaders are attending her campaigns.
BJP’s Joint General Secretary Shiv Prakash will hold a Hyderabad Parliamentary review meeting today evening at Madhavi Latha’s office. It is heard that senior leaders are skipping this meeting too.
BJP has been trying to snatch Hyderabad from Owaisi this time but these internal conflicts are affecting the party’s chances in the constituency.
