Daggubati Purandeshwari is appointed as the new President of Andhra Pradesh BJP. She took charge the other day in Vijayawada. Eenadu published a small snippet of her statement on the front page.
Andhrajyothy also published a small snippet with a small image of Purandeshwari’s full photo.
Blue media is upset about it. They say Eenadu and AJ have given prominence to Purandeshwari because she is from the Kamma community where as there were no such niceties towards the previous President Somu Veerraju who is a Kapu.
Sakshi blacked out Purandeshwari’s news from the main page and gave a small snippet coverage in Vijayawada City people. But Blue media wants us to believe Sakshi is not casteist.
Let us not delve into that but lets us see how YSR Congress and Blue media are approaching Purandeshwari.
Whenever Pawan Kalyan attacks YSR Congress on a simple issue, we have seen YSR Congress leaders from top to bottom, their social media warriors, and Blue media baying for his blood.
We do not see the same approach when Purandeshwari criticized YSR Congress the other day.
Does the Kamma angle exist here as well? Obviously No!
The fear of Jagan’s cases, Viveka’s murder, etc have factored in while deciding to go soft on Purandeshwari.
Eenadu and Andhrajyothy may have given front-page coverage to Purandeshwari as it is the first day of a National Party’s President. But Blue media sees everything and anything from a caste angle.
