Liquor Sales in Greater Hyderabad limits touched record highs in the eve of Dussehra. According to an estimate, on the four main days of Dussehra, 106 Crore worth Booze got sold in Greater Hyderabad. The holidays from Sunday to Wednesday helped the sales to skyrocket. All the wine shops and bars in Hyderabad are overcrowded on this occasion.

According to the Excise department, liquor sales for this year Dussehra is Thirteen Percent more than that of the sales the same time last year. On an average, 10 Crore worth liquor sales take place in Hyderabad. During the festival days, the sales got spiked by three and half times, the excise department officials say.
While this is not so good trend for the health and pockets of the people, it will be a big news for the government which depends on excise income big time. In another estimate, the income from liquor sales in Telangana this year registered about 120% growth this year which is really big and now the government is going to increase the number of bars very soon.
