The YSRCP is facing another round of resignations in Cheepurupalli, the home constituency of senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana.
Several leaders from Merakamudidam mandal announced their decision to leave the party. The group includes mandal party president Kotla Venkatrao, former sarpanches, former MPTCs and leaders from 13 villages.
The leaders said they would send their resignation letters to YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. They also said they would follow Majji Srinivasa Rao, popularly known as Chinna Srinu, who recently left the YSRCP and joined the TDP.
The latest exits come after several ZPTC members in Vizianagaram district resigned from the YSRCP. Cheepurupalli ZPTC Valireddy Sirisha was among those who quit earlier this month.
The developments come soon after Botsa announced that he would contest the 2029 Assembly election from Cheepurupalli.
With local body elections approaching, the latest resignations add another challenge for the YSRCP in Botsa’s home constituency.
