The YSR Congress government, strangely commissioned multiple propaganda films like Yatra 2 and Vyooham, hoping these would somehow help them. But this plan first backfired with Yatra 2 bombing at the box office.
Another film from the YCP pipeline, Vyooham hit the theaters a couple of days ago and this RGV-directed propaganda film was outrightly turned down by the audience.
After Yatra 2 turned out to be a washout, Vyooham has also been affirmatively declined by the public. Not many even know that the film released and that speaks about its distraught fate.
Despite YCP’s efforts to carry these films by pumping them with social media posts, the public’s interest is clearly away from them.
While the plan was to somehow gain political mileage through these films, the fact that they were outrightly rejected by the public might have a story or two to tell about the current mood of AP people.
Before 2019 election, Lakshmi’s NTR and Yatra made some sort of a noise at the box office and this was substantiated by YCP’s win. If that is any sort of yardstick, then the outright rejection of the mentioned propaganda films this year might have a story to tell against the ruling party.
