The reports of BRS having a secret alliance with the BJP have been doing rounds in the media for months now. Though leaders of both parties denied the news in various instances, their actions hint at their private alliance, say the analysts.

As of now, the BJP announced 15 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Most of these candidates are imports from the BRS party. On top of that, analysts opined that BRS is fielding relatively weak contestants in places where BJP is contesting with strong candidates.

For example, BRS chief KCR’s daughter Kavitha contested against Dharmapuri Aravind in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. However, this time, Kavitha backed out and the BRS gave Nizamabad ticket to former MLA Baajireddy Govardhan.

In the case of Chevella, BRS’s sitting MP Ranjith Reddy is expected to join Congress soon. On the other side, BJP fielded former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy for that seat. Amidst these strong candidates, BRS gave a ticket to former MLC Kasani Gnaneshwar.

In Zaheerabad, BRS’s sitting MLA BB Patil jumped into BJP and secured a ticket. After his exit, BRS gave the MP ticket to Gaali Arun Kumar, who didn’t win any MLA or MP seat in the past.

Though it is not officially announced, it is expected that BRS will offer Malkajagiri ticket to MLC Shambirpur Raju. He will be contesting against BJP’s strong candidate Etela Rajender.

Going by BRS’s first two lists, political analysts and social media users speculated that BRS deliberately chose to nominate comparatively weaker candidates against strong contenders from the BJP.
