Recently, RTV, a media house owned by Ravi Prakash, reported that K. Chandrashekar Rao’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will be merged into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

It was reported that after the humiliating defeat in both assembly and parliament elections, BRS is merging into BJP as there is no political future left for it.

The report went on to add that KCR’s daughter Kavitha will be released from jail as a part of the merger deal between BJP and BRS. RTV further stated that the merger would happen after the conclusion of the Delhi Assembly elections.

BRS took the matter seriously and took legal action against RTV for spreading fake news. Time and again, BRS leaders have been refuting rumours of merging into BJP.

As RTV broadcasted the report in a big way, BRS filed a defamation case against it. In its notice, BRS stated that ever since the BJP came into power at the centre in 2014, it has been constantly neglecting the interests and welfare of the people of Telangana.

It was further stated that BRS was always at loggerheads with the central government, demanding better benefits for the people of Telangana.

Stating that the rumours coming from a reputed media house and its prominent journalist were baseless, BRS filed a defamation case against RTV.
