BRS With BJP: Short Term Gain Vs Long Term Loss

BJP-Narendra-Modi-BRS-KCR

There is a strong buzz in the Political Circles that BRS is very interested in having an alliance with the BJP in the Parliament Elections. Sources say that BJP State leaders are against this alliance but the Central Leadership is in two minds.

Congress is on a rampage mode after the recent Assembly Elections mode. Revanth Reddy is on a mission of Vengeance and had vowed to decimate BRS completely. The MLAs of BRS are likely to beeline after the Parliament Elections.

BRS Internal Surveys suggest that the party does not stand a chance in any of the Seventeen Seats of Telangana except for Medak. In such a scenario, the entire ecosystem will be shaken and defections will further weaken the party.

So, BRS wants to take shelter with BJP to get the immunity. An alliance with BJP will be a big boost for BRS electoral prospects. The alliance candidates are expected to sweep all the MP seats in South Telangana.

In North Telangana, the alliance can also register decent numbers. The count of the alliance will begin from Ten. But then, this will be a difficult decision for BJP to make.

An alliance means BJP is giving a lifeline to BRS and confining itself to the third position. BRS never proved to be a loyal ally for anyone since it’s inception.

BJP is weak in South Telangana but in North Telangana, it is already in Number one and Number Two position. In fact, a three-way contest will benefit the party here.

If there is no alliance and BJP comes second after Congress, BRS will be decimated and the Saffron Party will automatically emerge as the Major Opposition.

But then, the BJP Top Leadership will want to deny Congress a chance to get more than ten seats from a Single State with this alliance. If they believe Congress is no longer in race in Delhi, they should say No to Alliances in Telangana.

The short term gain is denying Congress a big number while they have to sacrifice the long-term prospect of eliminating BRS from Telangana and occupying it’s place.

A strong regional party is always dangerous for the BJP than Congress. It got proved in many states.

But then, Modi and Amit Shah always targeted short term gain in Telangana. In the recent Assembly Elections, they saw a Congress wave in Telangana and pulled off the plug from the BJP to help BRS. The entire BJP campaign collapsed after that after an aggressive Bandi Sanjay is replaced. Even then Congress won and BJP had to satisfy with paltry number of seats.

So it will be interesting to see what Narendra Modi and Amit Shah will decide this time!
