Election fever is already gripping Andhra Pradesh. All major parties are hitting the streets to impress the voters. Meanwhile, there are reports of rampant Voter list manipulation in the state.
For the last few weeks, Eenadu and Andhrajyothy have been publishing stories about how there is the addition of fake votes and deletion of voters that are considered Oppositions.
Eenadu on Sunday published an article about how there are 103 votes on a single and that too non-existent address in Nandikotkur. Both Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan are repeatedly mentioning of the issue in their tours and public meetings.
They are warning the party cadre to take care and be vigilant to stop the ruling party’s anarchy.
But then, taking care of the voters’ list is not a simple affair. It requires a mechanism with coordination between the booth-level cadre and local leaders at the ward level. Simply instructing the cadre to take care will yield nothing.
The parties should ensure such a mechanism is in place for the cadre to participate or else the ruling party will have a riot.
