Central government had refused to accept Andhra Pradesh’s stand on Pattiseema Project. The state government is saying that it is a part of Polavaram Project and its expenses have to be borne by the center as Polavaram is a national project.

The concerned minister had clarified in Parliament that Pattiseema is a temporary project and will not be recognized as a part of Polavaram Project. He also clarified that the DPR of Polavaram was ratified long ago and can not be changed now.
This will mean that the state government had to bear all the expenses of Pattiseema Project from its own pocket. But the project can not be avoided since Polavaram is taking a very long time and Pattiseema is necessary to divert some water to Rayalaseema till Polavaram is ready.
