In Politics, most of the time self-mistakes prove to be more costly than the Opposition’s strength. Elections are often lost due to the same mistakes.
In 2019, TDP ended up with a sensational defeat. The party was reduced to just 23 seats, the lowest tally in its history.
People say many reasons for the defeat but then, TDP losing the BC Voting is the major reason.
Traditionally, BCs are the strong vote-bank of the Telugu Desam Party. But in 2019, TDP planned to woo the Kapu Community and decided to favor it by giving the EWS Reservations.
It resulted in the splitting of BC votes and transferred some BC vote share to YSRCP.
TDP has taken the BC voting for granted assuming they will support them anyway.
Similar is the scenario with the YSR Congress now.
The SC and Muslim voters are a strong support base for the YSR Congress. But then, Jagan took them for granted and supported the BJP in all the controversial bills in the Parliament.
This is likely to dent the SC and Minority votes for the 2024 elections.
Jagan will be hoping that TDP and Janasena will ally with the BJP. So that the split will be arrested.
Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan want the BJP on their side so that the Central Government does not help Jagan as it did in 2019. But then, in such a case, they will be risking the SC and Minority votes.
Some media houses have reported that Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan have discussed including BJP in their alliance in their meeting yesterday.
