While the TDP alliance achieved a sweeping victory in the Andhra Pradesh General Elections, the scenario was entirely different in the Lok Sabha elections across the country.
The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance gained 293 seats and formed the government for the third time. However, it depended heavily on the alliance parties JD(U) and TDP to reach that figure.
BJP alone managed to win 240 seats and was far from the magic number. TDP and JD(U) contributed 30 more seats, helping the NDA win the Lok Sabha elections.
On the other side, the INDIA bloc, led by the Congress Party, won a total of 232 seats. This marked a significant improvement compared to its performance in the 2019 General Elections.
Since yesterday, several media reports have stated that INDIA leaders are holding talks with TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar to invite them to their alliance.
This morning, Nitish Kumar, along with INDIA leader Tejaswi Yadav, went to Delhi, igniting these ongoing rumours.
On the other side, everyone was intrigued to see what Chandrababu Naidu’s next step would be. However, Naidu confirmed that he remains with the NDA.
Speaking to the press earlier today, Chandrababu Naidu said, “I am with NDA. I am going to the NDA meeting (in Delhi). In the meantime, if there is anything, we will report.”
With this statement, Chandrababu Naidu confirmed his stance with the NDA, clearing all ongoing speculations.
