Chandrababu Naidu has once again made it clear that discipline and performance are top priorities in the party.
He closely tracks how leaders function at the ground level, gathering feedback from party workers and internal reports. He also reviews constituency progress and political activity through regular meetings. Because of this, issues reach him early before they grow bigger.
Chandrababu has always maintained that the party comes before individuals. Winning elections alone is not enough, leaders are expected to stay connected with people and maintain discipline.
This was evident during a review meeting with Srikakulam district leaders at his Undavalli residence.
During the meeting, Chandrababu took up the issue of Pathapatnam MLA Mamidi Govindarao and raised concerns over complaints about his behaviour.
He said multiple complaints are being received about his functioning and warned that such behaviour will damage the party’s image. He also reminded that Pathapatnam is a TDP stronghold where the opposition is not very strong.
In such a situation, internal issues becoming a problem is a serious concern.
Chandrababu asked him to change his behaviour and the way he speaks. He stressed that the party comes first and warned he will not tolerate actions that harm it.
He also pointed out that electoral victory is not an individual achievement and said it came because of alliance support. He advised first-time MLAs to stay grounded.
This sends a clear message that discipline and accountability will be taken seriously.
