Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will have a meeting this evening at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad.
In this crucial interaction, Babu and Revanth will discuss the long-pending issues that need to be resolved in the AP Reorganisation Act which was introduced during the bifurcation of the state.
According to the reports, TG Chief Minister Revanth Reddy may raise the following issues in this meeting.
During the bifurcation, seven mandals from the Khammam district have been merged into Andhra Pradesh. Revant
h may ask to give them back to Telangana.
Revanth may also discuss the payment of pending dues of Rs. 24000 crores to Telangana power companies, which are to be paid by Andhra power companies. If there are any pending payments from Telangana’s side, they will be settled accordingly.
Another major point of discussion might be the distribution of Krishna waters. As of now, there are 811 TMCs of water available in Krishna. Telangana is seeking to have a share of 558 TMC, based on the catchment area ratio of international water distribution principles.
It is heard that the Telangana Chief Minister may also ask for a share in the board management of the world’s renowned temple, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.
Telangana may also seek a share in the extensive coastal corridor of Andhra Pradesh which is about 1000 km. As it is a landlocked state with no seaports, TG is seeking a share in AP’s Machilipatnam, Krishnapatnam and Gangavaram ports.
