Chandrababu Naidu has been named the richest Chief Minister in India, according to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). The rankings are based on the earnings and assets declared by the leaders.
As per the list, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu holds the top spot with a net worth of ₹931 crore. In second place is Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, with a net worth of ₹332 crore.
The combined net worth of all 31 Chief Ministers in India stands at ₹1,630 crore. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy secured the seventh spot with assets valued at ₹30 crore.
At the other end of the list, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reported the lowest net worth of just ₹15 lakh, according to ADR. The figures were derived from affidavits submitted by the leaders during previous elections, which detail their properties and income.
ADR highlighted that contesting elections is becoming increasingly expensive, making it difficult for leaders with modest means to participate. Naidu’s top ranking is attributed to the business empire he built over the years, including Heritage Foods, a listed company that continues to perform well.
