Veteran Politician Daadi Veerabhadra Rao and his son, Ratnakar resigned from YSR Congress Party and are likely to meet Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today.
Daadi is upset for Jagan after the latter denied Anakapalli seat to his son. It looks like he is keen on going back to TDP again.
The question however is why Chandrababu Naidu is giving him a chance.
Daadi, an ordinary school teacher was given a chance in politics by the Late NT Ramarao in 1985. He won an MLA in 1989, 1994, and 1999. He also worked as a Minister during this period.
He lost the 2004 and 2009 elections. He worked as an MLC from 2007 to 2012.
Even after getting so many opportunities from TDP, he ditched the party for not giving MLC extension and joined the YSR Congress before the 2014 elections.
He resigned from the party after the defeat and came back to TDP. Just before the 2019 elections, he resigned once again to TDP and went to the YSR Congress.
Every time he resigned from TDP, he made a scathing attack on Chandrababu Naidu and the party.
Also, the pattern of leaving the party and coming back pictures Daadi as the most opportunist politician.
And to allow someone like him into the party will be a big disappointment for the party cadre.
Admitting leaders from YSRCP will definitely trouble Jagan but sometimes it is wise to let go of leaders like Daadi to send the right message and set good expectations.
If defectors can easily come and go even after bad-mouthing Chandrababu, it will not help the party in the long run.
