For the past few days, the potential alliance between Telugu Desam Party and BJP has been the most talked about topic in the Telugu circles.
A couple of days back, national media portal, Republic TV reported that TDP could well be getting back with BJP and join NDA. This led to a series of speculations and reports on the potential coming together of these two political forces.
When asked about the same today, Chandrababu Naidu maintained a rather strategic stance. He squarely pushed the ball into Modi’s court.
“Those who propagated that TDP will join NDA should only comment on whether or not we will be joining them. Previously, we left NDA for the collective good of Andhra Pradesh. Cut to now, the damage incurred by Jagan is far more than the bifurcation effects,” Chandrababu said.
Naidu has cleverly sidestepped the much anticipated question about the alliance and put BJP in a position where they should be the ones commenting about it.
Naidu went on to add that he had always been focused on development of AP even while in power and that is the reason why he couldn’t focus on the party and which in turn resulted in the party losing impetus. He promises to double the welfare programs if TDP is voted back to power.
