Chevireddy Gain or Loss Due to Ongole Transfer?

Chevireddy-Bhaskar-Reddy

Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy has been appointed as the YSRCP Coordinator of the Ongole Lok Sabha Constituency, indicating a likely candidacy as an MP for the ruling party in the upcoming election. This appointment is expected to influence the political landscape in Chandragiri constituency.

Bhaskara Reddy’s shift from Chandragiri to Ongole has stirred dynamics within the ruling party, while the main opposition, the TDP, is experiencing a slowdown. Chevi Reddy has played a prominent role in Chandragiri politics for a decade, leading the YSRCP ranks single-handedly.

In Chandragiri’s political scene, Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy has been the driving force behind the YSRCP’s activities. Despite the announcement of his son, Mohit Reddy, as the in-charge of Chandragiri YSRCP and a candidate for the upcoming elections, and his appointment as the chairman of Tuda, Mohit continues to operate in Bhaskara Reddy’s shadow.

Chevireddy’s extensive contacts and political strategies will now be absent from the family’s arsenal. Neither the YSRCP nor his son Mohit appears fully prepared for the Chandragiri election campaign without Bhaskara Reddy’s presence.

If Bhaskara Reddy contests in Ongole, resources and loyal supporters must be redirected from Chandragiri to Ongole, causing potential difficulties and setbacks for Mohit in Chandragiri. The recent YSRCP appointment has further demoralized the local TDP ranks, who already strongly believe in the opposition to the YSRCP and the government, anticipating positive momentum for the TDP and a certain victory in Chandragiri.

When Bhaskara Reddy left Chandragiri and moved to Tadepalli to align with leader Jagan, the TDP ranks were excited. With the latest appointment, it appears Bhaskara Reddy may not be actively present in Chandragiri during the election, causing the TDP ranks to feel that Chandragiri YSRCP is not operating at its previous level in terms of poll management. In anticipation of the potential deficit in YSRCP, TDP ranks are working with renewed enthusiasm, hoping it will benefit their party.
