Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy is a two-time MLA from Chandragiri.
Chevireddy is known for his excellent electioneering. Chandragiri shares its border with Tamil Nadu. Chevireddy brought Tamil Political Culture to Chandragiri by showering voters with an unimaginable number of gifts and money during the elections and buying their votes.
However, Jagan shifted Chevireddy out of Chandragiri this time. His son, Mohit Reddy is contesting from Chandragiri while Bhaskar Reddy is moved to Ongole Parliament to stop the Magunta family somehow.
But then, Chevireddy is struggling in Ongole. YSR Congress is struggling in all the seats in the seven assembly constituencies under Ongole Parliament. The party is hopeful that it will win Darsi and Erragondapalem.
In Darsi, the YSR Congress is hoping that TDP fielding a non-local candidate will help them.
In Erragondapalem, TDP is riddled with Group Politics and as a result, many are not supporting the candidate Eriction Babu. YSR Congress is hopeful that its candidate Chandrasekhar will win here.
In Kanigiri, the YSR Congress fielded a Yadav candidate against TDP for BC votes but that is not working on the ground.
The YSR Congress candidates in Giddaluru and Markapuram were interchanged and that has failed. The show-off without finishing the Tunnels of the Veligonda Project also angered the people in these constituencies.
Since Chevireddy is a non-local candidate for Ongole Parliament, his situation is like a fish out of water. He is solely depending on the party’s strength there along with welfare schemes and volunteers.
