The notes dispensed read ‘Children Bank of India’ in place of Reserve Bank of India and ‘Guaranteed by the Children’s Government’ in place of Guaranteed by the Central Government. ‘Churan label’ in place of the latent image and a fake ‘PK’ logo instead of the bank’s seal making a mockery of those who got them.

Upon a Police complaint, it was revealed that there are five Fake Notes in the bundles kept in the ATM and the others are genuine. A case of manufacturing documents resembling currency notes, using forged or counterfeit notes and of cheating has been registered at Sangam Vihar police station under IPC sections 489-b, 489-e and 420.

The Police are yet to find out who is behind this. Jokes apart, this is a serious case of even banks were duped. SBI triggered an internal inquiry about how the notes arrived in the bank and then into the ATMs evading all the security checks.
