The Schedule for the General Elections is supposed to arrive by now. During 2014 elections, the schedule was released on March 3rd. There are allegations that the delay is giving chance to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address last-minute Public Meetings and make policy changes to help BJP.
Election Commission sources, however, now tell that the schedule may be announced this weekend or latest by Tuesday. They say all the Primary Arrangements are complete for the elections schedule announcement and the elections are likely in seven or eight phases. The first phase Notification will come out this month-end and elections will happen in April.
Along with Lok Sabha elections, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh will also go for the elections. The schedule for these Assembly Elections will also release at the same time. Telangana should have been going for elections but KCR dissolved the house early and went for elections.
