Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is traveling to Mumbai today, July 12, 2026, to personally visit Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The visit follows a major surgical procedure performed on the Deputy Chief Minister’s right shoulder.
On Saturday, July 11, 2026, a specialized medical team led by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala successfully operated on Pawan Kalyan’s right shoulder to treat a complex, long-standing rotator cuff injury complicated by an avulsion fracture.
The intensive procedure lasted approximately three and a half hours. Medical examinations had previously revealed severe muscle tears and injuries in both of his shoulders, which accumulated over nearly a decade of physical strain during intense election campaigns and public tours.
To minimize severe post-operative pain during recovery, doctors opted not to operate on both shoulders simultaneously; the surgery for his left shoulder has been deferred for approximately two months.
Chief Minister Naidu, who previously issued a statement wishing his deputy a full and speedy recovery, is flying to Mumbai to check on his health status in person. Pawan Kalyan remains under close medical supervision as he begins his post-operative rehabilitation.
