The ‘Sunburn Festival’ in Hyderabad has become controversial during New Year celebrations, leading to legal action. The Madhapur police filed a cheating case against BookMyShow and the event organizers for selling tickets online without approval.
Officials stress the necessity of obtaining permission for New Year events, cautioning against violations and even hinting at potential criminal charges for inappropriate behavior. Despite lacking approval from the Cyberabad police, online ticket sales continue, sparking anger from CM Revanth Reddy.
In a meeting with authorities, the Chief Minister questioned the unauthorized event and online ticket sales, resulting in a reprimand for the organizers and representatives from BookMyShow.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty clarified that there is no permission for the Sunburn music festival, addressing concerns raised by the Chief Minister.
Revanth Reddy called for strict monitoring of New Year’s events to tackle drug use, stressing age restrictions and discouraging profit-focused approaches.
He emphasized the importance of curbing harmful culture, expressing worries about drug-related problems, and reaffirming Telangana’s commitment to a drug-free state.
