Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the most popular leader in the country. That can be ascertained by the fact that he came back to power with more majority in recent elections. Modi is one leader whom people trust even though they were put to hardships. Be it Demonetization, Be it Janatha Curfew, People just stood by him like a rock.
The Prime Minister this morning addressing people asked them to switch off all the lights at 9 PM on April 5th and light a Diya or torch or Mobile Flash Light on their balconies to show their will power in combating Coronavirus. Last month, Modi asked people to clap for the frontline workers who are striving hard to contain this Epidemic.
The event was a grand success back then. Probably, that is why Modi came up with this idea but then, it has backfired. People were trolling the idea in social media and are angry with Modi as it sounds more like a Publicity Stunt of the Prime Minister.
“We expected the Prime Minister to announce the Government’s Action Plan to counter Corona. At least, he should have spoken about the problems of migrants, shortage of essentials, Lockdown future plans, etc. But this Diyas idea is ridiculous” people say. BJP supporters, however, defend that Modi came up with this idea to brighten the mood of the people who are vexed with staying indoors.
