A US visa applicant recently took to Reddit to share their experience with the visa agency Atlys. The applicant states that choosing Atlys was “the greatest mistake of my life.”
The applicant applied for a US visa for his wife and himself through Atlys in April 2026. They say that Atlys made multiple mistakes in their draft application, forcing him to re-draft over five times.
He was promised a guaranteed visa appointment by mid-September. However, they did not receive any communication for five months, until September passed.
Only then did Atlys e-mail them, stating that it would take a further two months for an appointment. His reply to the email was also ignored, and he was forced to chat with support through the app.
The support team initially said that the timeline was actually 8 months longer. However, they later corrected themselves, and confirmed an appointment by November in Mumbai.
The applicant asked for an earlier appointment in any city, in order to get their visa quicker. The Atlys app also showed November as a guaranteed date.
However, two months after that, just recently, they received another revised timeline. This time, the date was June 2027.
When the applicant confronted the team, their app was silently updated to show January 2027 as a new guaranteed date.
Now, the applicant is stuck, as Atlys has refused to share his login details to ustraveldocs. This means that he cannot check the actual status or take control.
Experts have advised the applicant to raise a complaint with Atlys, and try to recover their password via Forgot Password. Applicants are also strongly warned to never trust such agencies, especially those who hold government logins hostage.
