The trends of the Assembly elections of Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir are out. BJP is creating history by winning Harayana third time in a row. The alliance of Congress, National Congress, and CPI (M) are winning the most important Jammu & Kashmir.
Despite the favorable result in Haryana, the BJP will be disappointed about the Jammu & Kashmir result.

The Exit Polls predicted a Hung Result but it is a clear mandate for Congress and its allies. A Hung would still make the BJP happy because of obvious reasons.
This is the first election to Jammu & Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. Also, this is an area of National importance and the Saffron Party would be extremely unhappy to give away power to Congress and National Congress here.

However, after the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu & Kashmir state was divided into two Union Territories – Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The Central Government would still exercise some power despite having different governments.
Haryana is a small state, so the BJP can not say 1-1 after losing the crucial Jammu & Kashmir. Moreover, Congress has put up a spirited performance in Haryana.

The political narrative will be against the BJP ahead of the important elections in Maharashtra (polls likely in November) and Delhi (likely in February).
The Saffron Party always projected that having J&K under its control was an issue of national security and importance. But then, people’s mandate went against it.
We will have to see if Modi and Shah pull off any tricks in the trade to get J&K under their control.
