If the buzz in the political circles is to be believed, Congress high command had sent enough feelers to YSR Congress President, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy about a possible merger to counter TDP in the state. From the last couple of days, Congress leaders including PCC President Raghuveera Reddy also hinted about the possible nexus.

Jagan is struggling to keep his MLAs intact in the state after the ruling party intensified its Operation Akarsha. Already 10 MLAs were lost and more of them are in line. Support of a national party may be necessary to Jagan to keep the pact in tact and also to get some protection in his disproportionate assets cases.
Congress is looking at a possible turn around in AP with Jagan’s admission. Jagan after 2019 elections is maintaining good relations with BJP. But things are not moving at expected pace and Jagan is disappointed that BJP is doing very less to contain Chandrababu’s Operation Akarsha. We will have to see if Jagan responds to Congress’ feelers!
