The case of defecting MLAs is still pending, but Danam Nagender, who moved from BRS to Congress after the 2023 Assembly elections, is doing everything to show his loyalty to the party.
Danam Nagender even contested the Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket after the Assembly polls, though he lost from Secunderabad. With BRS demanding disqualification of defecting MLAs, Danam and nine others are waiting for a final decision from Telangana Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.
Despite the uncertainty, Danam remains confident about continuing in Congress. He recently met the Congress High Command in Delhi and is said to have bargained for a ministerial berth.
On Friday, he laid the foundation for drainage and road works worth Rs 1.40 crore in Narayanaguda and Himayatnagar in his constituency. Speaking to the media later, he said the resignation issue had not come up yet.
Danam said he would resign if CM Revanth Reddy asked him to. He added that elections are not new to him, as he has contested 11 times. He said the disqualification case is ongoing in the Supreme Court and that he will present his arguments.
Danam stated that Telangana will progress only if Revanth Reddy continues as CM for the next 10 years. He also said the government will make a success of the Global Summit being held for Rising Telangana.
