The government of Andhra Pradesh started a strange and self-centered program where they passed a new order that would give Rs 200 allowance go volunteers and other job holders to buy Sakshi paper every month.
The unusual allowance was challenged in the court by Ushodaya Publications and the case came to hearing in the Delhi high court earlier.
The court then sent notices to AP CM and YCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy and his wife Bharathi, along with the Audit Bureau of Circulation.
The court has questioned those involved about their intention behind issuing an allowance to government-paid job holders to buy one particular news paper.
Jagan, Bharathi, and ABC should revert back to the court within six weeks with a valid explanation. The next hearing has been pushed to September 22.
It is known that Sakshi is YCP’s mouthpiece. The fact that the state government looked to publicize the same by giving monetary allowance from state exchequer has drawn a negative response from all quarters.
