
The Delhi BJP was to decide on the CM candidate today, but the meet has been postponed to Thursday, February 20. The PM who was on foreign tour has already returned to India, but the big day has been pushed further.
Since the results were out, around 5 names have been doing round for the CM’s post. It has already been widely written that BJP has won in Delhi after 27 years.

Prime Minister Modi will decide on the final candidate on Thursday. Meanwhile, quite a few equations have changed in Delhi. Parvesh Verma who was considered to be top choice for the CM’s chair is said to be no longer in the race.
The talk from BJP circles in Delhi is that the BJP top brass is considering to make a woman candidate CM. It has to be noted here that BJP has no woman CM in any state where it rules. Also, the BJP higher-ups are keen on making a first-timer CM like in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Amidst this anticipation, one name that has emerged is that of Rekha Gupta. If Delhi is to have a woman CM, chances are high that Rekha Gupta could be chosen.
Gupta has been national secretary, BJYM Delhi unit secretary, Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha secretary and BJP working committee member. This backdrop is likely make her the top choice.

Ashish Sood who is close to Nadda and Dharmendra Pradhan along with Shikha Rai are also in the race for now.
