Quick commerce sites have been leading the race in India as multiple platforms that complete deliveries within 15 to 20 minutes are ruling industry now.
Platforms like Zepto, Blinkit, Swiggy and others have been capturing the quick commerce space in India as they bring deliveries to the doorstep within 15 minutes.
Now the government of Andhra Pradesh has taken a very big decision with regard to the digitalisation of farmer produce and counter the existence of Zepto, Blinkit, and others.
Andhra Pradesh government has launched a new platform in the form of Digi Raitu Bazar which will be an active counter to the aforementioned platforms.
This platform will connect the farmers and provide their local produce to buyers within 10 to 15 minutes timeframe, which is similar to Swiggy and Zepto. This is going to be a brilliant initiative, which connects the farmers with buyers within 10 to 15 minutes.
The best thing is that the buyers who are paying premium prices on these leading platforms can get access to produce directly from the farmers within the same stipulated timeline. This could be a game changer implemented correctly, and we have to see how the government would handle the same.
Till now, the buyers had been paying premium prices for ordinary products, including vegetables and fruits on these platforms, so if the government can provide quality products at low prices through Raitu Bazaar, sky is the limit then.
