BJP has taken the lead in announcing the contestants for the upcoming general elections, ahead of BRS and Congress. The party has declared 9 candidates in its list so far, including Nagar Kurnool, leading to dissension within the party.

The ticket for Nagar Kurnool has been assigned to the son of BRS sitting MP Pothuganti Ramulu, who recently joined the BJP. This decision has caused shock within the party, particularly to the daughter of former BJP national president Bangaru Laxman. Sushmaswaraj’s daughter was given a seat in Delhi, but the high command chose Bangaru Laxman’s daughter Shruti for Nagar Kurnool.

In response, Bangaru Shruti is reportedly considering a party switch with the intention of contesting the elections. She had a courteous meeting with CM Revanth Reddy. Shruti contested from Nagar Kurnool in the 2019 elections and lost. Despite expectations of receiving the ticket again, the party has decided otherwise. Sources indicate that Shruti is now exploring the possibility of obtaining a Congress ticket to contest from Nagar Kurnool.

Goshamahal BJP MLA Raja Singh criticized BJP state President Kishan Reddy for fielding a female candidate, Madhavi Latha of Virinchi Hospitals in Hyderabad, to counter MIM in the Hyderabad constituency. Madhavi Latha will contest from the MIM stronghold represented by Asaduddin Owaisi. Raja Singh sarcastically remarked that Kishan failed to find a male candidate.

Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind directly criticized Bandi Sanjay. He mentioned that he is not convinced by the opinion that BJP’s graph fell due to the removal of Bandi Sanjay as president. Arvind recalled that Bandi Sanjay was not the president in 2019 when BJP won 4 Lok Sabha seats.

He further noted that BJP lost GHMC, Nagarjunasagar, and Munugodu bye-elections under Bandi Sanjay’s presidency. The developments within the party just one month before the general elections do not bode well for BJP.
