Since his return to power in 2024, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu had been the richest CM in the country with declared assets of ₹900 crore+. This was entirely from the Heritage foods business that is operated by his family.
However, the latest news is that Chandrababu is going to be dethroned as the richest CM in the country as he is going to be replaced by his neighbouring counterpart.
DK Siva Kumar, who is one of the prime leaders for the Congress party in India is going to be the new chief minister of Karnataka and this appointment is going to be a matter of time.
DK has declared assets worth over ₹1413 crore as an MLA itself. He is already one of the richest MLAs in the country and now that he is going to take charge as the new chief minister of Karnataka, he is going to be the richest CM as per declared assets.
YSR Congress social media groups built a narrative against Chandrababu by misrepresenting his richest CM tag very conveniently. There were extensive social media campaigns on this matter.
However, this will be largely subsided after DK Siva Kumar takes control as the richest CM after his nomination, which could be happening in a day or two.
