During YCP’s regime in Andhra Pradesh, there was widespread marijuana (ganja) cultivation in the state. After taking charge a few months ago, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also accused Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of creating a ganja menace in the state and compared him to the Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.
The current government and the police department are actively working to curb the ganja culture and cultivation in the state. In the process, they are using drone technology to combat ganja cultivation in the state. In the latest incident, police officials uncovered a ganja crop with the help of drones and successfully destroyed it.

Getting into details, Alluri Seetharamaraju district police uncovered five acres of ganja cultivation through drones in Degalarayi village located in the G Madgula Mandal. Immediate action was taken as the crops were destroyed, and cases were registered against the culprits.
Sharing the news on X, AP Police tweeted, “#APPolice utilize drones to uncover & destroy #Ganja crops: The ASR District Police successfully employed advanced #drone technology & identified nearly five acres of land dedicated to illegal ganja cultivation in Degalarayi village, located in the G Madgula Mandal.”

“Following this discovery, the illicit crops were destroyed, and legal proceedings have been initiated against those involved in the cultivation,” the note further read.
