Road accidents caused by reckless driving have become increasingly common in Hyderabad. Recently, the city has seen a surge in such incidents.
In yet another similar incident, a B.Tech student crashed his car into a telephone pole near the Jubilee Hills check post last night.
According to the details, the engineering student and his friend were travelling in his car during the late hours of Tuesday.
While intoxicated, he drove the car at high speed, eventually taking it onto the footpath and crashing into a telephone pole near the Jubilee Hills Check Post.
The car flipped onto the road due to the speed, but fortunately, both passengers only sustained minor injuries.
Police arrived on time and took control of the situation. They took the individuals into custody and registered a case. The investigation is currently underway.
Meanwhile, these types of accidents have become prevalent in Hyderabad during late-night hours, and the government and police departments seem to be taking insufficient measures to control them.
People of Hyderabad are urging the Telangana government and the police department to enforce stricter rules and take stringent action against those who drive under the influence of alcohol.
