Rajampet MP Mithun Reddy has received notices from the Enforcement Directorate. He has been asked to appear before the agency on January 23.
Mithun Reddy is currently out on bail in the Rs 3200 crore liquor scam case. The latest summons have triggered discussions within YSRC cadre.
The development comes a day after Vijaysai Reddy was summoned by the ED on January 22. Vijaysai Reddy is an accused-turned-whistle blower in the same case.
Mithun Reddy had earlier spent 71 days in Rajahmundry jail. He was later granted bail with strict conditions by the court.
Investigators allege that Mithun Reddy played a key role in tweaking the liquor policy for massive illicit gains. He is considered one of the important accused in the case.
With huge sums of money involved, the ED summons have come as a major jolt for Mithun Reddy. The action has intensified political and public interest.
