Narendra Modi

Exit polls predict a historic third term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the Lok Sabha election ends. However, the NDA is not expected to reach its goal of 400 seats out of 543, nor will the BJP hit its 370-seat target.

The INDIA bloc is also predicted to fall short of the 295 seats expected by Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge.

On average, six exit polls suggest the NDA will secure 357 seats and the INDIA bloc 148 seats. The BJP is expected to win 327 seats, more than its 303 seats in 2019, while Congress is expected to remain at 52 seats.

Exit polls also show the NDA improving in the south and Bengal.

In Andhra Pradesh, the NDA is expected to win 18 out of 25 seats, thanks to its alliance with Chandrababu Naidu.

In Karnataka and Telangana, the BJP is expected to perform well. The BJP might even win seats in Tamil Nadu and Kerala for the first time.

In Bengal, the BJP is predicted to increase its seats from 18 to 22, surpassing the Trinamool Congress.

In Odisha, the BJP could win 15 of 21 seats, reducing Naveen Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal’s influence.

The BJP is expected to continue dominating states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi.

The Aam Aadmi Party and Congress might not win any seats in Delhi again.

In Bihar, the Opposition might win 7 of 40 seats, while in Haryana and Rajasthan, they could gain a few seats.

In Maharashtra, the opposition is predicted to win more than one-third of the seats.
